Three Tools for SEO Neophytes

Starting out with Search Engine Optimization can be confusing, but there are some very good tools available to everyone which can make the job somewhat easier. Google is not only the leading search engine today, it is also a driving force in providing tools to help webmasters get the most out of their websites. As always, quality content is a vital factor, and building relevance is aided by various online utilities.

Here are three must-have applications for SEO beginners:

  1. Google Suggest. SEOs that work with the right keywords always get a good start. For those who are still a bit inexperienced, Google Suggest can help provide the right set of keywords to focus on. Just type in your keyword or topic and Google gives you the most used keywords related to the given keyword.

  2. Google PR Toolbar. The best way to measure the performance of your website (and the quality of your SEO projects as well) is to know how well your page is ranking vis-à-vis other websites. This can also help you determine which sites to trade links with in order to increase traffic inflow of your website.

  3. Google Analytics. This is sort of the “evaluation” tool for webmasters, which is a very important phase in SEO. Google Analytics provide you with detailed statistics of your website’s activity in relation to search engines. This includes hits and server logs that will help you figure out which parts of your website are you earning from the most and least.

So if you’re starting out with SEO, don’t forget to have at least these three tools.
